Armed with a bit of knowledge and a great deal of motivation and desire, Cartouche WebWorks, Inc. was created in 1998 by Leslie Hammerschmidt and Jan Knutson. Our goal is to provide personalized service and create beautiful, functional, easy-to-use websites that portray our clients best image.

Many people have inquired as to the meaning of our name. A "Cartouche" (pronounced 'kar-toosh') is an Egyptian word for a nameplate or seal which contained a name or description of something in hieroglyphs. This seemed appropriate to us as the web often seems like "hieroglyphics" to many users!
